Flexco has introduced its Polyurethane Canoe Liner, designed to fit inside a facility’s conveyor skirtboard system and instantly improve impact protection. This liner absorbs material loads, prevents damage to structures, and boosts operational efficiency while cutting costs.
According to Kevin Fales, Flexco’s HD BCP Product Manager, the Polyurethane Canoe Liner fills a critical gap in conveyor protection. During site inspections, Flexco staff often see overloaded conveyors or materials placed off-center, which tend to damage skirtboard walls. Such damage leads to expensive repairs, longer downtime, reduced efficiency, and sometimes total skirtboard replacement. Worn components and material spillage further pose safety hazards and require additional cleanup for onsite workers.
With the new Canoe Liner, operators can safeguard their infrastructure, reducing downtime and other negative effects. Its fast, field-ready installation lets crews mount the liner into existing skirtboards quickly, without major adjustments—unlike traditional rubber tiles or basic urethane solutions that need extensive modifications. The liner easily fits inside the skirt box where heavy impacts occur, forming a durable barrier that protects the conveyor system. Featuring steel-reinforced construction, it offers resilience against overloads and allows for speedy replacement when needed.
The Polyurethane Canoe Liner is available in lengths up to 48 inches (1,219 mm) and can be customized to specific skirtboard sizes. It is made of steel-reinforced urethane for durability, handles high material loads, and comes with complete mounting hardware for immediate use.
Flexco notes that the Canoe Liner suits heavy-duty industries such as aggregate, cement, coal, open-pit and hard-rock mining, underground mining, and bulk material handling operations.
